Good afternoon, friends!
I was at church today for a ladies luncheon and had the most scrumptious jello salad! It's been around for quite some time ... a classic recipe, really, but I thought I would pass it along to you today. I used to make this for Tom back in our newlywed days ... oh, precious memories!
Lime Jello Salad
I hope that you all enjoy this oldie but goodie ... I think I may make it for dinner tomorrow. The kids have a youth group trip to Cedar Point and will be gone overnight ... I'll say no more!
Blessings,
Bonnie

oh Bonnie,
I love you and I must say, this recipe is kinda gross!
Vickie Boonstra
Vickie - did you marry into the Dutch Community? If so, I can tell you, Lime Jello with carrots, like fine wine, is an acquired taste.
It will come, dear. It will come.
Blessings,
Bonnie
Vickie,
I have to agree with you on this one. Maybe if it was in that juicing machine that is advertised on the infomercials, but even then, I'm not so sure about carrots in Jell-O ever!!
Honey, you should try the good stand by, pears in a can! They taste a lot better and sit up quite nicely too. The triplets like it when I use the slices not the halves, so they each get more with every serving.

PS - if you're ever over at the tuinstra's...I suggest guzzling that fine wine before dinner, just in case she decides to serve this fancy dish;)
Ya know - this is a staple of every sunday afternoon potluck. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without the lime jello with carrots salad.
Wanda -
What is your cousin doing overseas? I know a gal whose mom and sister just went overseas to Africa. Sounds exciting. I've only ever been to Canada (Windsor is just lovely), and that's not really overseas.
Blessings,
Bonnie
Oh ladies, I must agree with Bonnie, not trying to offend any of you, but it is rather obvious many of you married in to the Dutch way. I was raised in Indiana and did not realize how Dutch my mother raised me until I moved to West Michigan and I finally felt at home here, because you see, no one laughs at my love for lime jellow with carrots, It was a staple for me growing up and all my hoosier friends thought I was strange. Oh I am at home once again in dear West Michigan! I will pray for you as you try to acclimate better to the Dutch ways. You know, it helps you bond to your nice husband as you adapt to the dutch ways. Kinda like how the carrots bond to the lime jello, what a lovely illustration! Maybe I can use that in Sunday School this week, I am sure the Pastor would welcome the visual lesson.
Oh there I go again, just rambling on. Sorry ladies!
Oh Bonnie Bonnie,
It's been so long since I have been able to catch up on your Blessings Blog-I am just so darn busy here as of late. Well I tuned in today and I must say when I read about your lime jello experience I just had to blog you. I had an experience a few years back-we won't say how many though-and it was with the Baptists. They had that exact same jello with the carrots...BUT...they had a creme cheese and cool whip topping. Now that stuff was darn good let me tell ya..but you gals having some difficulties adjusting-this just may be the answer...and some of that special sangria-should be good to go I say..well smooches to ya dear one..God Bless and take good care now.
Until then, Marcie
